Katy Perry Teases Romance with Justin Trudeau During London Concert
Pop star Katy Perry seemingly referenced her budding romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during her Lifetimes Tour stop at London’s O2 Arena on Monday, October 13.
The moment came when a fan, named Darren, approached Perry onstage holding a sign that read, “Katy Perry, will you marry me?” When Darren asked if she was single, Perry laughed and replied, “You heard I was single? That’s interesting.”
She then joked about timing, saying, “You know you really should have asked me about 48 hours ago,”
apparently alluding to her recent PDA-filled outing with Trudeau on a yacht off Santa Barbara on October 11.Perry added playfully,“He’s just a little too late…”as the fan was helped offstage.Photos from the yacht outing show the singer and Trudeau sharing affectionate moments, fueling speculation about their romance, which has been rumored since they were first spotted having dinner together in Montreal on July 28.
The pairing follows Perry’s split from ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. Trudeau, 53, separated from his wife Sophie Grégoire in 2023 after 18 years of marriage; they share three children.
A source told PEOPLE that Perry and Trudeau have an “easy connection,” and that the politician has “been pursuing her since their first date.”
