Fashion model and designer Lee emerged as one of Rwanda’s most promising young talents after winning the Top Male Elegant Award at the glamorous Silver Gala 2025, an event organized by internationally acclaimed dancer and creative Sherrie Silver.

The star-studded ceremony, held at BK Arena on Saturday night, was a dazzling showcase of fashion and creativity, featuring some of Rwanda’s top celebrities including Kivumbi King, Ross Kana, and Juno Kizigenza. Yet, it was Lee who stole the spotlight with a perfectly styled look that exuded class and artistic precision.

When his name was announced, cheers erupted across the arena  a sign that the crowd had already chosen their favorite. “I feel truly happy and proud,” Lee told InyaRwanda moments after receiving his trophy. “Winning this award means a lot to me. I’ve worked hard for years, and it’s an encouragement to keep pushing forward. I believe this is just the beginning of something greater.”

From Model to Fashion Entrepreneur

Beyond modeling, Lee is also making waves as a fashion designer through his own brand, Champs by Lee, which he founded two years ago. The brand has quickly become popular among local artists and public figures, blending modern elegance with African-inspired creativity.

He revealed that many of the fans who cheered him during the event were actually his clients people he has styled for major public appearances. “Most of the people you saw celebrating were my clients,” he said with a smile. “But even without that, I came prepared. I knew I looked good, and maybe that’s why people were so loud when I stepped on stage.”

A Shared Victory with His Clients

Lee’s victory carried an emotional twist, as some of his main competitors  like Kivumbi King and Juno Kizigenza  are among the artists he often dresses. “It’s funny because I design outfits for them,” he laughed. “Kivumbi even told me that my win made him proud. It shows how fashion connects us beyond competition  it’s about creativity and mutual respect.”

Since joining the fashion industry, Lee has built a reputation for going beyond trends. His work emphasizes artistry, message, and identity, rather than simply dressing for appearance.

He says The Silver Gala 2025 felt like a milestone  a moment confirming that his brand is on the right path. “This award motivates me to keep growing Champs by Lee and take it to international standards,” he said confidently.

A New Chapter for Rwandan Fashion

The Silver Gala 2025 marked a turning point for Rwanda’s fashion scene, celebrating creativity, innovation, and self-expression. For Lee, the night ended not only with a trophy but also with a powerful statement  that fashion in Rwanda is more than style; it’s a voice, a story, and a form of art.
