Rwandan artists Mpano Layan and Emmy Vox have returned from Uganda after completing work on a new Gospel music collaboration titled “Arakora,” a project that blends African cultural heritage with a strong message of worship and faith.

The song brings together two distinct musical identities: Emmy Vox, widely known for his contemporary worship and praise music, and Mpano Layan, whose work is deeply rooted in traditional Rwandan sounds. Their collaboration was further enriched through a partnership with YIMBA Music, a Ugandan Gospel music group recognized for promoting faith-based music inspired by local culture and values.

Although firmly rooted in Gospel, Arakora stands out for its creative fusion of Rwandan traditional elements and Ugandan cultural expression. This influence is reflected in the rhythm, lyrical style, costumes, and overall artistic direction, giving the song a uniquely African identity that resonates beyond borders.

Speaking after their return, Mpano Layan revealed that preparations are underway to officially release the song within the coming week, as final production touches are completed.

According to the artists, the message of Arakora is centered on reassurance and hope, reminding listeners that God continues to work, regardless of life’s challenges or uncertainties.

The music video for Arakora was filmed in Karamoja, a region in northeastern Uganda known for its striking landscapes, rich traditions, and distinctive way of life. The visuals highlight vast plains, rugged hills, and the daily cultural practices of local communities, offering an authentic and visually powerful backdrop to the song.

The artists explained that Karamoja was deliberately chosen because it symbolizes the deep connection between people and nature an idea that aligns closely with the song’s themes of humility, faith, and trust in God.

Mpano Layan and Emmy Vox emphasize that this collaboration represents more than a single release. They view it as a broader initiative aimed at uniting African Gospel artists through culture, shared values, and faith, with hopes of expanding similar projects across different countries.

They concluded by expressing gratitude to YIMBA Music and the people of Karamoja for their hospitality, support, and active participation during the video shoot, expressing confidence that Arakora will contribute meaningfully to spreading messages of hope, unity, and spiritual encouragement across Africa.
