Element Wins Major Honor in Ethiopia
Rwandan music continues to gain continental visibility, and one of its leading creatives has just marked another milestone. Element, the renowned producer and recording artist reshaping East and Central Africa’s soundscape, has been honored with the “African Super Star” award at the ODA Awards held in Ethiopia.
The accolade recognizes African artists whose work positively portrays the continent through creativity, cultural impact, and artistic excellence. A video shared on December 9, 2025, showed the producer receiving the award during a colorful ceremony in Addis Ababa.
Originally launched eight years ago with a focus on celebrating East Africa’s standout performers, the ODA Awards have gradually expanded their identity and influence. This year the ninth edition the awards adopted a new name, “ODA The African Award,” reinforcing their ambition to honor talent shaping the evolution of African music, entertainment, and cultural expression.
