Kagame hosts Jack Ma and Jerry Yang
President Paul Kagame has met with global business leaders Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group, and Jerry Yang, co-founder of Yahoo, who are in Kigali for initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and economic development in Africa.
The meeting took place on Saturday, with discussions focusing on cooperation in job creation, innovation, and entrepreneurship development.
Jack Ma and Jerry Yang are in Kigali as part of the Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) programme, an initiative launched by Alibaba to support African entrepreneurs and foster business creation across the continent.
The programme is being held for the seventh time, with 10 entrepreneurs expected to be announced on Saturday as winners who will share grants worth $1.5 million.
Jack Ma is among the world’s wealthiest individuals, with an estimated net worth of more than $27.2 billion, while Jerry Yang’s fortune is estimated at over $3.1 billion.
