Niyo Bosco Addresses Public Criticism Following Viral Interview
Niyo Bosco has spoken out amid growing public debate triggered by a recent interview that sparked confusion about his visual impairment, urging people to avoid drawing conclusions based on edited footage.
Rwandan singer Niyo Bosco has said he should not be forced to justify his personal life, particularly to people who continue to attack him following a recent interview in which he was shown photos and asked to comment on them prompting some to claim he had lied about being visually impaired.
Speaking to local media in a brief interview, Niyo Bosco explained that those assuming he can see are basing their judgments on edited footage that fails to reflect what actually happened.
He said“Honestly, I shouldn’t have to explain my personal life. But what I can tell you is that the interviewer simply asked me to mention the names of certain artists and speak about them. The rest happened during editing. I’m surprised people don’t understand that these clips were stitched together.”
Niyo Bosco emphasized that if God were to restore his sight, he would not announce it through YouTube channels but would instead organize a major thanksgiving concert.
He added that the clips circulating online were heavily edited, even though the original footage was clean. “They edited the videos and merged different parts. It’s not a problem—it helped keep the interview engaging. Some viewers saw it clearly, while others rushed to criticize me, claiming I lied about being blind,” he said.
The controversy began after journalist Ndahiro Taikun released a video interview in which he appeared to show Niyo Bosco photos of various artists, and the singer commented on them. This led some people to question how he could describe the images if he could not see.
However, Niyo Bosco reaffirmed that he is indeed visually impaired and that the assumptions being made are unfounded.
