Media personality Sam Karenzi has rejected Super Manager’s public apology and denied lodging a complaint with the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), though he revealed that his lawyers are reviewing the matter to determine if legal action is warranted.

He explained that tensions with Super Manager began after his radio program criticized the latter for allegedly speaking on behalf of APR FC fans, a role that, according to Karenzi, was never officially his.  “Super Manager joined APR FC in unclear circumstances, presenting himself as the interim spokesperson for the fans. During our program, the president of Rayon Sports’ fan base sent me a message forwarded to APR FC’s management, complaining that he was insulting their supporters. APR’s leadership responded that their official spokesperson is Tonny Kabanda and that the head of their fan base is Jangwani. They said they didn’t know this man,” Karenzi said.

Following that revelation, Karenzi said his team began questioning Super Manager’s legitimacy in representing APR FC fans. According to him, the controversy escalated after Super Manager produced another show in which he questioned why some businesses advertised on SK FM, Karenzi’s radio station.

Although Karenzi himself has not filed a complaint, he stated that his legal team is examining whether Super Manager’s remarks may have crossed into criminal territory.  “I personally did not lodge any case with RIB. It’s good that he apologized to his fans, because I never heard him mention my name directly. But from a business perspective, if my lawyers conclude that taking him to court is the right step, we will do so to prevent others from copying his actions,” he said.

Karenzi stressed that SK FM never received a formal apology from Super Manager, despite claims he had expressed regret.

In recent weeks, tensions have flared between Super Manager and several SK FM journalists. The standoff culminated in a YouTube video where Super Manager publicly apologized, admitting that he had spoken in anger during his controversial broadcast and promising that such behavior would not happen again.
