Tour Company Plans Unique Trip Bringing Celebrities and Fans Together in Nyungwe National Park
Rwandan entertainment journalist and tourism entrepreneur Amen Babu Rugemana is preparing a special trip designed to bring local celebrities closer to their fans this time in the breathtaking setting of Nyungwe National Park.
Through his tourism company RUA, Babu has launched an initiative he says aims to inspire Rwandans to appreciate and explore their own country before expecting foreigners to do so., he stressed the importance of domestic tourism. “Before foreign visitors come here and fall in love with our country, we should be the first to explore it. It’s disheartening to hear that a visitor knows more about our tourist sites than some of us who live here,” he said.
According to Babu, the upcoming trip will feature a lineup of well-known figures from the music and film industries, along with other public personalities. Although he has not yet revealed their names, he confirmed that several have already agreed to participate and that the full list will be announced soon.
The event is scheduled for December 13, 2025, and participation fees vary depending on nationality.
Rwandan residents joining the trip will pay 75,000 RWF.
Residents of East African Community member states will pay $210.
Other international visitors will be charged $270.
Babu noted that discussions with the celebrities involved are ongoing but assured that the final roster will be made public in the coming days.
