Pallaso Joins Forces with Abeeka Band on New Single “Marry You”
Ugandan star Pius Mayanja, popularly known as Pallaso, has teamed up with Kampala’s fast-rising Abeeka Band for his latest single “Marry You.” The release marks Pallaso’s first-ever collaboration with a live band—an experience he described as both inspiring and unforgettable.
Formed in 2021 by former members of Janzi Band, Abeeka is a five-piece group that has quickly gained recognition on Kampala’s music scene. Known for their high-energy performances and unique sound, the band blends Afropop, R&B, and contemporary rhythms to craft a style that resonates with audiences.
Praising Abeeka’s Professionalism
Pallaso spoke highly of the band’s artistry, saying he felt privileged to work alongside such talented musicians.
“You can feel the professionalism and experience they bring to the table,” he said.
He also praised their vocal strength, noting that Abeeka challenged him to experiment with his voice in ways he hadn’t before—something he believes elevated “Marry You” into a truly special project.
A Fusion of Sounds
The single combines Pallaso’s signature Afropop flair with Abeeka’s soulful live instrumentation, resulting in what he described as a “magical collaboration.”
Often referred to as East Africa’s most vibrant boy band, Abeeka is made up of Pages, Kevin, Michael, Producer Allan, and Dr. Trey. Beyond studio sessions, the group maintains a busy performance schedule with weekly appearances at top Kampala venues such as The Villa, Garden Light Café, Paradigm, Lazio, La Cueva, and Catwalk.
With “Marry You,” Pallaso and Abeeka Band are set to deliver one of the year’s most exciting collaborations, blending the richness of live music with the infectious energy of Afropop for fans across the region.
