Ugandan singer Pius Mayanja, popularly known as Pallaso, has officially joined the National Unity Platform (NUP), the country’s leading opposition party.

The artist was welcomed on Monday morning at the party’s headquarters in Kampala by NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) and Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi.

Wearing a bright red suit symbolic of the party’s colors, Pallaso shook hands with Bobi Wine as a sign of his commitment to the movement.

Explaining his decision, Pallaso said he wanted to be remembered for contributing to Uganda’s transformation. “I am ready to be remembered for something important. The NUP is my party, and you have my support, 100%,” he declared.

The announcement came shortly after Pallaso had hinted at his political move through a late-night social media post on Sunday, confirming his alignment with the opposition.
