Rwandan singer and songwriter Yago Pon Dat delivered a heartfelt performance in Kampala, Uganda, as he premiered his second studio album, Yago Life II. The event, held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Nomad Bar, drew a remarkable crowd that surpassed his expectations despite the challenges of hosting a concert at the beginning of the week.

“I didn’t expect such a turnout on a Monday night, but the venue was full, and many artists came to support me,” Yago shared with InyaRwanda.

The launch attracted prominent Ugandan stars including Ykee Benda, Omega, Levixone, and Producer Temperature Touch, who also performed. While some artists were unable to attend, they reached out to Yago, and the warm reception has already prompted organizers to plan another Kampala concert for him. “The next one might bring in even bigger names, but it will still be my show,” he hinted.

One of the album’s standout achievements is the track Suwejo, which has been selected for the global project The World Album  International Artists Project and is set to compete at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Yago Life II carries a deeply personal meaning for the artist, as he dedicated the 16-track collection to his son. The album features collaborations with regional and international musicians, including Ocean (ft. Passy Kizito), Habaye Ibitangaza (ft. Inyogoye), Nooma (ft. Double Jay from Burundi), No Nyash No Problem (ft. Ykee Benda), Sokka (ft. Sintex), Mumavi (ft. Okkama), and Elo Remix (ft. Ayma from Uganda).

The project was crafted by 10 producers among them Logic Hit It, Prince Kiiz, Dany Beats, Knox on the Beat, ISB Pro, Chrisy Neat, Iyzo Pro, Epa Gold, Lion Beat, and Devy Denko & Klein. Its album artwork was designed by Zeo Trap, while Rwandan music legend Mavenge Sudi, known for the timeless hit Gakoni k’Abakobwa, gave his blessing to the project.

Recalling the most emotional part of the night, Yago said: “On stage, I told everyone this album is dedicated to my son. I even sent him greetings from the stage. People cried, we sang together, and the show went on until 3 a.m.”
