The man was arrested to face charges of rape and other forms of gender-based violence, according to reports.
The Office of the Attorney General of Somalia announced on Sunday that investigations had revealed Jama’s involvement in acts of sexual assault and the recording of those acts, which he allegedly shared on social media platforms.
Jama, who had been on the run from justice for some time, was extradited to Somalia to stand trial, as confirmed by the Office of the Attorney General.

The Somali government expressed gratitude to the Government of Rwanda and Interpol for their cooperation in arresting and extraditing him to face justice.
It is not yet clear whether the government will assign the case file to the courts in Puntland, where the alleged crimes were committed at different times.
Another suspect believed to be connected to the case is currently in the custody of the judiciary in Garowe, Puntland, awaiting legal proceedings so that justice can be served to the victims.
