Mani Martin Ushers in a New Artistic Era With “Rebirth,” Featuring Kenny Sol, Ariel Wayz and More
Mani Martin, one of Rwanda’s most enduring voices and a pioneer of Afro-fusion blended with traditional and soul-inspired melodies, has unveiled the full tracklist of his new album Rebirth a project he describes as the beginning of a renewed artistic and personal chapter. More than a collection of songs, Rebirth positions itself as a bold transition point, redefining Mani Martin’s sound while bridging generations of Rwandan music talent.
Unlike previous projects that leaned heavily on emotional storytelling and cultural preservation, Rebirth is crafted as a transformative experience an introspective journey built on healing, self-acceptance and creative reinvention. The album assembles a powerful lineup of Rwanda’s new-wave artists, signaling Mani Martin’s commitment to blending established artistry with rising voices shaping the country’s contemporary sound.
The project features collaborations with Kenny Sol on “Be Strong,” Ariel Wayz on “I Know Who I Am,” Patrick Nyamitari on “Live Again,” and Fox Makare on “Imana y’Ibudahermuka.” Other tracks on the album include Asante, Benumugisha, Childhood Love, Champion, Noble Reason, and Uwishoboye, each exploring a different layer of emotional rebirth and spiritual grounding.
Speaking about the album, Mani Martin described Rebirth as “a powerful testimony to the human ability to rise again, to heal and to rebuild from within.” He says the project mirrors his own life journey from being celebrated as a child prodigy to becoming a seasoned artist with an international footprint.
A major inspiration behind the album, he revealed, was the book “Rebirth: Breaking Free from Self-Rejection,” which helped him confront self-doubt and embrace the process of personal transformation. The themes of identity, belonging, inner peace and emotional restoration echo throughout the record.
Musically, Rebirth merges Afro-fusion with World Music influences, traditional Rwandan rhythms, modern production textures and subtle Gospel undertones. The album showcases Mani Martin’s versatility while amplifying the diversity of Rwandan music. He explains that the intention was to create a soundscape where “culture, belief, rhythm and generations meet in one place.”
Mani Martin also opens up about surviving a near-death experience during a severe flood incident an event that fundamentally shifted his outlook on life, gratitude and purpose. He says the moment left him convinced that his second chance at life must reflect in his music, inspiring him to create songs rooted in hope, renewal and courage.
For Mani Martin, Rebirth is more than a musical milestone; it is a declaration of self-discovery. “This album is not just songs it is a journey of returning to oneself, of letting go of fear and embracing a new beginning,” he says. He invites fans to walk with him through this era of spiritual and artistic awakening.
