Rwandan rapper Papa Cyangwe, who is preparing to launch his second album while celebrating five years in the music industry, has officially invited the Minister of Youth and Arts Development, Dr. Utumatwishima Jean Nepo Abdallah, to attend his upcoming concert  an invitation the minister has accepted.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Papa Cyangwe personally visited the minister to extend the invitation.

the artist said he was honored that Minister Utumatwishima not only welcomed the invitation but also expressed familiarity with his work.

“I was surprised to learn that he already knew me,” Papa Cyangwe said. “He told me he used to follow the discussions I held during the Covid-19 period. He promised to attend my concert to show his support, and I truly appreciated that.”

Papa Cyangwe began his music career in 2020 but rose to prominence during the Covid-19 lockdowns  not only through his songs but also because of the commentary and interviews he frequently gave in the media. While many admired his outspoken personality, he was also gaining traction musically with tracks such as Kuntsutsu featuring Juno Kizigenza, Sana, Imbeba featuring Igor Mabano, among others.

Over the past five years, he has released two studio albums: “Live and Die” (2024) and “Now or Never,” his most recent project, which he is set to showcase at the upcoming anniversary concert.

The event comes shortly after Papa Cyangwe confirmed that he recently got married and that he and his wife have welcomed their first child.
