Uganda Musicians’ Association president and celebrated performer Cindy Sanyu has sparked debate in the entertainment industry after challenging fast-rising singers Ava Peace and Jowy Landa to face off in a full music battle concert.

Speaking to the media, the veteran entertainer argued that a battle would not only energize the industry but also help determine who truly deserves the title of Uganda’s next queen of the stage. “I think the two girls should go for a battle because it’s the only way to know the actual queen. A queen has to step into the arena and prove her power,”
Cindy said, noting that although Jowy Landa has yet to command major stages, she recognizes the young singer’s potential.

Cindy added that such a showdown would be financially rewarding and strategically beneficial for both artists and their fans.“Let them make money out of it. It’s something exciting and could be very beneficial,”
she emphasized.

Ava Peace: A Fast-Rising Hitmaker

Among the new generation of female artists, Ava Peace has emerged as one of the standout voices. With chart-friendly hits like “Wanula” featuring Temperature Touch and “Omwana We Buddu,” she has been widely compared to Sheebah Karungi  not only for her confidence on stage but also for her fashion, body language, and overall image.

Jowy Landa: Crafting Her Own Sound

Fellow rising artist Jowy Landa has also been shaping her identity in the Ugandan music landscape, blending afrobeats with fresh urban rhythms. Her consistency and growing fanbase have positioned her as one of the new forces to watch.

A Recent Collaboration Adds More Spice

Interestingly, the two singers recently teamed up on a duet titled “No One Nobody,” which has already garnered nearly 600,000 views on YouTube within four months  further fueling conversations about how much excitement a head-to-head concert could generate.
