Erling Haaland Breaks Yet another Premier League Record with 100th Goal for Manchester City
Erling Haaland has rewritten Premier League history once again after scoring his 100th league goal in Manchester City’s dramatic win over Fulham, becoming the fastest player ever to hit the milestone.
The Norwegian reached the century mark in just 111 Premier League appearances, smashing Alan Shearer’s long-standing record of 124 games. Haaland now sits ahead of several legendary forwards, with Harry Kane (141 matches), Sergio Agüero (147), and Thierry Henry (160) all trailing the 25-year-old’s astonishing pace.
Pep Guardiola was quick to highlight the magnitude of Haaland’s achievement, praising his forward’s consistency across multiple seasons.
“You don't need mathematics to understand that if he stays for a long time and keeps this average, he will be close to Harry Kane and Alan Shearer,” Guardiola said. He added that elite goal scorers succeed “not for one season, but over many seasons with professionalism, resilience and a love for scoring goals.”
Alan Shearer’s milestone had stood for decades, and few believed it could be passed. Yet Haaland’s relentless scoring at City including several record-breaking campaigns since his arrival in 2022 has placed him on a trajectory that could see him challenge the all-time Premier League scoring charts if he remains in England long-term.
Haaland is already closing in on other major names, having recently surpassed Sadio Mané’s league tally and now targeting Cristiano Ronaldo’s Premier League total.
Manchester City’s win over Fulham was far from straightforward, with defensive lapses creating tension late in the match. The victory, however, keeps City firmly in the title race as Guardiola’s side seek to reclaim the league crown after falling short the previous season.
Haaland’s milestone goal proved not only historic, but crucial.
