Internationally acclaimed Barbadian DJ and music producer Andre Parris, better known by his stage name DJ Puffy, is expected to perform in Kigali at the highly anticipated December Madness concert, an event designed to give Kigali music lovers a thrilling close to the year 2025.

The concert, organized by Canada-based Taurus Entertainment, is scheduled for December 2025 and will usher revelers into the New Year with an electrifying celebration. However, organizers have not yet announced the specific date or venue.

At the previous edition of the event, the crowd was energized by performances from French DJ MadMaxx alongside DJ June, DJ Ino, DJ Tyga, and Canada-based DJ Tity.

Born on November 20, 1991, in Barbados, DJ Puffy grew up in a musical family. His mother, Denise Williams, is a singer originally from Grenada, while his father, Curtis Parris, hails from Barbados. He developed a passion for DJing at an early age and was already showcasing his talent by the age of seven.

Before fully committing to music, Puffy explored other interests including modeling and tennis. His stage name “DJ Puffy” originated during school events where he once appeared dressed as American rap icon Puff Daddy (Sean “P. Diddy” Combs). The nickname stuck and eventually became his professional identity.

His big break came in 2010 at an event in Barbados when the scheduled DJ failed to appear, prompting Puffy to step in and entertain the audience. That moment led to a life-changing encounter with entertainment entrepreneur Matthew “Fewwture” Ashby, who helped propel him into the international music scene.

In 2016, DJ Puffy made global history after winning the Red Bull Music 3Style World DJ Championships in Santiago, Chile, becoming the first Caribbean-born DJ to reach and win the world finals of the competition. This achievement launched him to international fame.

He later added another major title to his name by winning the renowned Culture Clash competition with the crew “No Long Talk”, making him the only DJ in the world to hold both prestigious accolades.

DJ Puffy has produced notable remixes for Soca legend Machel Montano, including Waves (2017) and Showtime (2018). His 2017 release Bangalang, featuring rapper Teff Hinkson, received widespread international airplay including on BBC Music.

He has also served as an ambassador for Carifesta XIII, promoting cultural exchange throughout the Caribbean, and has been a regular act at major carnival events worldwide.

Over the course of his career, DJ Puffy has toured and performed in countries including the United States, Costa Rica, and numerous Caribbean nations, expanding his global footprint.

Kigali audiences are now eagerly awaiting the energy and unmatched turntable mastery that have made him a standout on the world entertainment stage.
