Davido Arrives in Kigali Ahead of ‘5Ive’ Album Listening Concert
Nigerian music superstar Davido arrived in Kigali shortly after midnight on December 4–5, 2025, ahead of his much-anticipated album-listening concert for “5Ive,” scheduled for this Friday, December 5, at BK Arena. The award-winning artist, whose full name is David Adedeji Adeleke, landed at Kigali International Airport around 2:00 AM, where he was greeted by a group of local journalists who had patiently waited for hours to welcome him.
Davido touched down with his full entourage, including members of his management team and the instrumentalists who will join him on stage during the Kigali performance. As he stepped out of the terminal, he noticed the flashing cameras aimed in his direction and responded with enthusiasm, pulling out his own phone to capture the moment. He later shared snippets of his arrival on social media, showing fans how warmly he was received in Rwanda despite the late-night hour.
The BK Arena concert is expected to feature a star-studded lineup of Rwandan performers who were invited to share the stage with Davido. Among them are Kitoko, Riderman, Ariel Wayz, Juno Kizigenza, and Kid from Kigali. The event will also showcase well-known DJs, including DJ Marnaud, DJ Toxxyk, DJ Alisha, and several others, making it one of the most anticipated shows of the year.
Davido’s new album “5Ive,” which he will present to fans in Kigali, was released on April 18, 2025. The project includes collaborations with several major international acts such as Chris Brown, Omah Lay, Shenseea, TayC, and Dadju, among others. “5Ive” is the artist’s fifth studio album, following Omo Baba Olowo (2012), A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), and Timeless (2023), solidifying his status as one of Africa’s most consistent hitmakers.
This visit marks Davido’s fourth time performing in Rwanda. He first appeared in the country in 2014 during celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of Rwanda’s Liberation (Kwibohora20). He returned in 2018 as part of his “30 Billion Africa Tour,” where he performed alongside Buravan, Charly & Nina, and Riderman. His most recent appearance before this week was in 2023, when he headlined the Giants of Africa Festival held at BK Arena from August 13 to 19.
Davido’s recurring presence in Rwanda highlights not only his strong connection with local fans but also Rwanda’s rising profile as one of Africa’s premier destinations for world-class entertainment events.
