Jose Chameleone Threatens Legal Action Against Nobat Promoter Over Murder Allegations
Ugandan music icon Jose Chameleone has threatened to sue events promoter Nobert Twizire, popularly known as Nobat, over what he described as false and defamatory remarks linking him to a recent murder case involving fellow artist Alien Skin.
In a statement released on Friday, Chameleone condemned the allegations as malicious and baseless, accusing Twizire of using social media to tarnish his reputation. The claims, made during a TikTok livestream, suggested that the singer was connected to the ongoing murder investigation and that his planned trip abroad was an attempt to evade justice.
Chameleone dismissed the accusations outright, describing them as hate-driven fabrications. He stated that he had never worked with Twizire and saw no reason for the promoter’s ongoing hostility toward him. He also pointed out that any previous disputes Twizire had with his brothers, Pallaso and Weasel, were unrelated to him personally.
The veteran musician demanded an immediate retraction and warned that he would pursue legal action if the defamatory statements continued. He emphasized that Uganda is a country governed by law and that public figures should not be subjected to reckless character attacks without evidence.
Chameleone’s response has since gained significant traction online, sparking debate among fans and entertainment industry observers. As of publication, Nobert Twizire had not issued any public comment regarding the threatened lawsuit.
