Francis Ngannou Expected in Kigali for PFL Africa Semi-Finals
Francis Ngannou, the mixed martial arts legend, is expected in Kigali to attend the upcoming Professional Fighters League Africa (PFL Africa) semi-finals.
The highly anticipated event is scheduled for October 18, 2025, at BK Arena, where Africa’s top fighters will battle for a spot in the grand finals set for December.
In a promotional video shared on PFL Africa’s official social media platforms, Ngannou—who also serves as Chairman of the Board for PFL Africa confirmed his presence in Rwanda.
“I invite you all to join us in Kigali at BK Arena on October 18, where the continent’s finest fighters will go head-to-head,” Ngannou said. “Come witness greatness, support our warriors as they rise, and be part of history. Don’t miss it I’ll be there with you.”
The semi-finals will feature 22 fighters competing across different weight divisions, including Heavyweight, Bantamweight, Welterweight, and Featherweight.
This marks the first time Rwanda hosts a continental-level MMA competition, bringing together some of Africa’s strongest talents. Among the highlights, Rwanda’s own James Opio will face off against Uganda’s Isaac Omeda in a much-anticipated bout.
The event is organized under the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA), in collaboration with Professional Fighters League Africa, marking a milestone for both Rwanda and the continent’s growing MMA scene.
