England fans hit with shock as 2026 World Cup ticket prices soar past £3,000
England supporters have been left stunned after learning they could be forced to pay more than £3,000 for a ticket to next summer’s World Cup final in the United States.
The FA notified members of the England Supporters’ Travel Club on Thursday, confirming the pricing tiers passed on by FIFA for the expanded 2026 tournament. While group-stage seats start at around £135, the cost escalates sharply once the Three Lions progress beyond the early rounds.
Tickets for England’s opener against Croatia in Dallas are priced close to £200, before rising to £508 for a potential quarter-final and nearly £700 for a semi-final. But the biggest shock came with the final in New Jersey, where the cheapest available seat for official England fans exceeds £3,100.
It means supporters following Gareth Southgate’s side from the group stage all the way to the final would face a combined bill of more than £5,000 before even accounting for travel, accommodation or basic expenses a figure that has sparked frustration across the fan base.
Fans online expressed with many accusing FIFA of pushing ordinary supporters out of major tournaments. Others argued that national associations should unite to challenge what they describe as “unreasonable and exclusionary” pricing.
The tournament draw, held last week, placed England in a group with Croatia, Ghana and Panama. Preparations will now intensify ahead of their opening match on June 17 as the team attempts another deep World Cup run but many fans fear they may be priced out of witnessing it in person.
