Rwandan musicians Chriss Eazy and Danny Nanone are set to release a new song titled “Sampe”, marking their first collaboration one they both describe as a historic moment in their musical journeys.

Chriss Eazy has often credited Danny Nanone as one of his biggest inspirations, revealing that his passion for music was greatly influenced by Nanone’s artistry. He grew up listening to and imitating his style, a connection that has now culminated in this long-awaited collaboration.

Chriss Eazy first entered the spotlight by performing Danny Nanone’s song “Njye Ndarapa” during talent competitions, which he says opened the doors to his career.

Speaking about working with Chriss Eazy, Danny Nanone expressed admiration for the younger artist’s growth and talent:“Chriss Eazy is one of the best artists we have in Rwanda, and I had always wanted to work with him. Knowing that he started out as a young boy who loved my music made this collaboration even more special. I truly believe this song will be a landmark in both our careers.”

This partnership also comes after a history of mutual support. When Danny Nanone launched his album “Iminsi Myinshi” in 2023, Chriss Eazy was among the guest performers an early sign of their growing artistic bond.

In previous interviews, Chriss Eazy shared how Danny Nanone’s success inspired his own ambitions: “I grew up wanting to meet Danny Nanone because he was a star. I wanted to be like him,” he said.

Before going solo, Chriss Eazy started his musical journey in a group called Future Guys alongside M Eazy and Young Eazy, releasing three songs that, despite their efforts, didn’t gain wide attention.

His big breakthrough came when he won the Talent Zone competition organized by Royal FM, performing “Njye Ndarapa”the same song by Danny Nanone that had inspired him from the start.

The victory earned him Rwf 350,000 and a mobile phone, which he says was his first, marking the beginning of a promising career in music production and performance.

With “Sampe”, both artists promise a powerful and meaningful track that celebrates growth, mentorship, and the evolution of Rwandan hip-hop.
