Barcelona is preparing an ambitious move to reunite two of England’s biggest stars, with Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford both on the club’s radar ahead of the 2026 summer window.

Sources in Spain suggest Hansi Flick has identified Kane as his ideal replacement for Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires next year. The Bayern Munich striker, 32, could be available for around £57 million, thanks to a release clause inserted when he joined from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.

Kane’s deal runs until 2027, but the clause allows him to leave if he notifies Bayern before the end of the January window. Spurs would have first refusal, though Barcelona are reportedly prepared to test the situation if the England captain expresses a desire to move abroad.

The La Liga champions view Kane as the perfect focal point for Flick’s evolving attack and as the ideal partner for Marcus Rashford, who has impressed during his loan spell from Manchester United.

Rashford, 28, has rediscovered his form under Flick and is said to be “open” to making his stay at Camp Nou permanent. Barcelona holds an option to buy at the end of the season, and club chiefs are considering activating it, depending on their financial position.

Lewandowski’s likely exit would free up significant wage space, making a move for both players plausible though any deal would hinge on balancing La Liga’s strict financial fair play rules.

Kane, meanwhile, has played down speculation surrounding his future, insisting he remains “fully committed” to Bayern but acknowledging that “different opportunities can appear in football.”

“Right now, I’m all in with Bayern,” Kane told reporters last month. “But I’ve learned in my career that timing and opportunities can change. For now, I’m just focused on helping the team.”

Barcelona’s board, led by Deco, are believed to be exploring creative ways to structure a transfer that would bring two established England internationals to Catalonia a move that would dramatically reshape the club’s forward line.

If it is successful, the duo would become the first English attacking pair to feature together at the Camp Nou since Gary Lineker and Mark Hughes in the 1980s a statement of intent from a club still rebuilding its European dominance.
