ADF kills 89 civilians in one week, MONUSCO reports
United Nations peacekeeping forces in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) have reported that the ADF terrorist group killed 89 civilians in just one week.
The peacekeepers announced this on November 21, 2025, stating that the ADF has killed more than 89 people including 20 women between November 13 and 19, 2025, in Lubero Territory in North Kivu.
According to MONUSCO, the group attacked Byambwe Catholic Hospital, killing 17 people, including a woman who had arrived to give birth. They also burned four patient rooms and stole medical supplies, including drugs.

MONUSCO called on the Congolese government to investigate the perpetrators of these atrocities, stating: “National authorities should establish an independent mechanism to investigate these crimes so that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice.”
These killings come just weeks after the ADF claimed responsibility for attacks it carried out in September 2025 that killed 60 people. Various reports continue to show that the ADF remains one of the deadliest armed groups targeting civilians in the DRC, killing its victims with guns, traditional weapons, and by burning homes.
