Fans who had purchased tickets for the Music in Space concert featuring artists such as The Ben and Vampino have been reassured that there is still hope for the show to take place, despite its sudden postponement.

The event, originally scheduled for August 23, 2025, was called off at the last minute due to the unexpected illness of Bjorn Vido, one of the key organizers. According to co-organizer Joshua Umukundwa, Vido’s health challenge made it impossible to proceed as planned.

After being discharged from the hospital, Vido returned to his home in Denmark but promised that he would recover within two weeks, allowing the project to potentially resume.

Umukundwa emphasized that fans should not be worried, noting that even if the concert is ultimately canceled, all ticket holders are guaranteed refunds under the agreement with the ticketing company. “We are waiting for Bjorn Vido to regain his strength so we can continue with the project,” Umukundwa explained. “But even if the concert doesn’t happen, every fan who bought a ticket will be refunded, as stipulated in our contract with the ticketing company.”

The Music in Space concert was expected to bring together a star-studded lineup, including Rwandan talents The Ben, Bushali, Ariel Wayz, and Kenny Sol, as well as South African acts Boohle, Touchline Truth, Bizizi & Kaygee D’A King, and STU.

Ugandan stars Vampino and Sir Kisoro were also scheduled to perform in Kigali, alongside DJs Phil Peter and Brianne, with MC Lucky hosting the night.
