Kylian Mbappé Crowned 2025 Golden Boot Winner After Stunning 31-Goal Season
Real Madrid star tops Europe’s scoring charts ahead of Gyökeres and Salah, continuing his era of dominance
Kylian Mbappé has done it again. The French forward has been officially crowned the 2025 European Golden Boot winner, finishing the 2024–25 campaign with 31 LaLiga goals to cement his status as one of football’s most unstoppable scorers.
The Real Madrid striker, now 26, finished ahead of Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, with a total of 62 points under the European Sports Media’s coefficient system. The award, presented by MARCA in Madrid, marks yet another milestone in Mbappé’s glittering career.
It wasn’t the easiest season for Real Madrid, whose title charge faltered in the spring, but Mbappé’s numbers remained exceptional. Across 34 league appearances, he netted 31 times and contributed eight assists, directly influencing nearly half of Madrid’s goals in LaLiga.
His pace, finishing, and ability to find space in tight games made the difference in key fixtures including a dramatic brace in El Clásico and a match-winning strike against Atlético Madrid in February.
While Gyökeres scored a remarkable 39 goals in Portugal, the league’s lower UEFA coefficient (1.5) meant his total translated to 58.5 points, compared to Mbappé’s 62 from the top-tier Spanish league (2.0 multiplier). Salah finished narrowly behind with 58 points for Liverpool.
That subtle but decisive difference highlights why Mbappé’s performances in one of Europe’s toughest leagues still carry greater statistical weight.
Mbappé’s triumph makes him the first Real Madrid player since Cristiano Ronaldo to lift the Golden Boot and the Frenchman has now matched the Portuguese legend’s early-career pace in front of goal. Ronaldo last claimed the trophy in 2015, and Mbappé’s latest victory bridges a decade-long gap for Madrid’s number nine.
“It’s a huge honor,” Mbappé said after receiving the award. “This is for my teammates and the fans whose push me every week. I’m proud to bring this back to Madrid.”
Full 2025 Golden Boot Standings

Now a six-time league top scorer and a three-time European Golden Boot podium finisher, Mbappé continues to chase history. With 269 career league goals and counting, he’s closing in on the totals once owned by Messi and Ronaldo the pair whose shadows he’s long been compared to.
Mbappé’s Golden Boot isn’t just another trophy; it’s a statement of longevity and consistency. In a season marked by Real Madrid’s transitions and tactical tweaks, the Frenchman remained the constant fast, fearless, and ruthlessly efficient.
As Europe’s deadliest forward lifts yet another personal accolade, one thing is clear: the Mbappé era is far from over.
