Gen Muhoozi Kainarugaba hits back at critics targeting his father
Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s son and Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has issued a stern warning to all those spreading rumors that his father, who is also the President of Uganda, is hospitalized in critical condition.
The message followed widespread claims circulating on various social media platforms and in newspapers in both Kenya and Uganda, alleging that Museveni was gravely ill. Muhoozi reportedly gave an ultimatum to anyone continuing to spread such reports.
One Kenyan newspaper that published the story ran it under the headline: “Gen Muhoozi, in great anger, warns Kenyans spreading rumors that his father is critically ill.”

The same newspaper reported that Muhoozi made the remarks in a very furious tone, and his statements suggested that there would be consequences for Kenyans who continue to spread the claims.
Muhoozi stated that in Uganda, no one would dare publish such information because it would be a violation of the law.
Gen. Muhoozi said: “I want to warn everyone who continues to spread lies that my father, the President of Uganda, is seriously ill. All that is a crime.”
Kainerugaba further added: “If this continues and President William Ruto remains silent, it will be considered an offense.”
His remarks come as Kenyan media outlets continue to report that Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is seriously ill, with some even suggesting that he may have passed away.
