Valverde is regarded as one of Real Madrid’s most complete midfielders capable of operating centrally, advanced or even wide making him an attractive option for United’s rebuild.

However, any deal is expected to be extremely difficult, given the Uruguayan’s importance to Real Madrid and the lack of pressure on the Spanish club to sell. Valverde has been a consistent performer under multiple managers and remains a key figure within the squad.
